“Sweetie, I wish you would come home with me,” Leah says looking at her husband, who is sitting behind his desk at the police station. She knows that he shouldn’t be at work so soon after Sofia’s death. He needs time to mourn and heal and deal with the loss that he has suffered, but Robbie insisted that he come to work. “Paige and I could use the company at home and I know you don‘t want to be here.”

Robbie looks up at his wife and nods in appreciation. He realizes what she’s trying to do for him and he is grateful. “I have to be here today Leah. There’s a case that I am in charge of and we made an arrest on New Year’s Eve. I promise I won’t be here long. I’ll catch up with you at home in a few hours.”

“Are you sure you’re okay?” she asks him knowing that he is close to crashing into a wall. He’s good at putting up a front for so long until the emotions get the best of him and he will let it out. When that happens, she knows it has to be at home with her. “I hate leaving you so soon after what happened.”

“Let’s not talk about it now, okay?” he says back to her.
